Artist's Comments

This is my big project for my Image Manipulation class. We were told to find a book cover design that we didn't like, (well, you could still like it if you wanted to) and make a new cover design for the book in question using Photoshop. Unfortunately, I'm not that big of a reader, so I chose the only book I could find: the D20 Modern Weapon's Locker Rulebook Supplement. Basically its a rulebook for weapons and nothing else. The original design can be found here: [link]

Since a lot of the other books in the series have this three character stance thing going, I decided to run with that idea to make it fit a little more with the rest of the rulebooks. I drew up three differenct up-gunned characters and gave them a color job, and placed them into this design. For the design itself I stuck with that D20 Modern rulebook set up with a little twist. I tried to make it look more like an ammo box, and added a photo of an old shooting target I had into the center. Personally, I like it very much. I'm glad this turned out so well. I'll let you do the critiquing.

Center figures drawn in pencil, digitally painted in OpenCanvas and Photoshop. All other designes done in Photoshop.

Doesn't a lightning rod on top of church show a lack of faith?

After seeing this in person, I really don't think there's anything you could add at all. It looks professional and like it would fit right along with the other books on a bookshelf.
Good job, as per usual! The characters are stylish and well colored. Looks like you put a lot of thought, time, and effort into this.
You know, whatever of those you have left going crazy being in college.
The whole eye-popping-out thing when you said you'd be graduating in three years? It wasn't because I was jealous. It was because I knew they were going to be cramming everything and I wasn't sure what would be left of your sanity after those three years.

You're not truly an artist until you've drawn an Angler Fish with something inappropriate hanging from its antennae.
